Vietnam's state budget collection down 10.3 pct in 10 months

Vietnam posted the budget collection of 1,137.3 trillion Vietnamese dong (49.4 billion U.S. dollars) in the first 10 months of this year, down 10.3 percent on-year, the country's Ministry of Finance said on Monday.

Domestic revenue over the months declined 6.8 percent from the same period last year to 959.2 trillion Vietnamese dong, while revenue from import-export activities fell by 21.2 percent to 147.6 trillion Vietnamese dong, according to the ministry.

Between January and October, Vietnam's budget spending stood at 1,260.2 trillion Vietnamese dong, up 9.7 percent on-year. Regular spending stood at 841.3 trillion Vietnamese dong, up 3 percent.

As of Oct. 26, some 17.8 trillion Vietnamese dong had been spent on COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control and supporting affected people. In addition, some 3.2 trillion Vietnamese dong had been used to curb the consequences of natural disasters and the African swine fever, said the ministry.

Vietnam aims to achieve a budget deficit of 234.8 trillion Vietnamese dong, or 3.44 percent of gross domestic product earlier projected for this year, according to the country's top legislature.
